When/how did you join Marsh?

I graduated from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. I am currently a TRAC Associate with Marsh’s Environmental Practice in the New York City office.

Describe your time in the TRAC Program

I was a Summer TRAC Associate during the summer of 2016 and joined Marsh as a full-time TRAC Associate in the summer of 2017.  The TRAC program has a diverse group of individuals who are all in the same position after graduating from college, so it has given me a great support system to acclimate to the professional world. The program has also exposed me to many different aspects of Marsh and the insurance industry, giving me a well-rounded view of the business.

What does a typical day look like for you?

In my role as a TRAC Associate with the Environmental Practice I work as an environmental insurance broker to come up with creative solutions that are tailored to our clients’ needs. I work with insurance carriers and clients on a daily basis to come up with comprehensive environmental insurance programs. Some important skills include: time management and organization to keep track of the many accounts you work with daily. Negotiation skills are also key to being a successful insurance broker, so that you can achieve the best results for your clients.

One of my favorite parts about my role is the teamwork and collaboration in the workplace. It creates a great learning environment because I can always ask questions and bounce ideas off of my teammates. The teamwork and collaboration also creates a fun and lively environment.

Do you have any advice for candidates or incoming TRAC associates?

What I’ve enjoyed most about working at Marsh is being presented with so many great opportunities and responsibilities at such an early stage in my career. I’ve been able to jump right into the work and I learn new things every day. Advice that I would give to candidates applying to the TRAC program is to show your enthusiasm and interest in Marsh and the insurance industry. Doing your research and understanding current events in the industry will go a long way.
