Satoru Hiraga

Managing Director and Representative Director, Chairman of Marsh Broker Japan, Inc.

He is responsible for overall Marsh Broker Japan’s Management, including the area of Risk Assessment and Identification consulting for Japanese large size corporations and foreign multinational companies.

Prior to join Johnson & Higgins, he worked for a banking institution as a financial analyst in its commercial banking function, becoming experienced in evaluating and analyzing financial conditions. After he joined Marsh, he was stationed in Germany and US, where he attained advanced risk finance and risk consulting skills. When he returned to Japan in 2000, he founded Risk Consulting Team to provide numerous consulting services including Business Continuity Management for Japanese and foreign corporations. In 2002, he assumed his role as Representative Director of Marsh Broker Japan, Inc.

He was Vice President from 2002 before being appointed President & CEO of Japan Insurance Brokers Association (JIBA) in 2013. He is also acting the important role for translating “Global Risk Report” published by World Economic Forum into Japanese.

He holds M.B.A. from American Graduate School of International Management, Arizona, USA., and B.A. in Economics and Finance from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan.
