CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Ronny Vellekoop is an experienced insurance practitioner by profession. He has been active in insurance since 1998. He joined Marsh Management Services (Dubai) Limited in 2008 as Head of Office & Senior Executive Officer. Ronny is responsible for the growth and development of Marsh’s captive management practice in the Dubai International Financial Centre.

EXPERIENCE

Prior to his appointment with Marsh he was Captives Director with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) were he was responsible for the growth and development of the captive insurance sector in Dubai.

During his career he developed an extensive knowledge of the captive insurance industry and is fully conversant with the requirements to write cross border insurance throughout the EU and other parts in the World.

His appointment followed a career of five years as Senior Insurance Manager with the captive insurance company of LeasePlan Corporation and an insurance manager in Dublin, Ireland. He was responsible for captive management, captive marketing and captive formations for a wide ranging portfolio of US and European corporations.

EDUCATION

After qualifying as a Bachelor with Utrecht University in 1996, he spent nearly six years working as an insurance broker for a global insurance broking firm in the Netherlands. During this period he passed his insurance exams with the Netherlands Institute for Banking, Investments and Insurance (ACII equivalent).
