David Blackburn

US Client Advisory Services Head, Marsh Advisory
CURRENT RESPONSIBILITIES
David Blackburn is the head of US Client Advisory Services, with responsibilities for US Marsh Advisory. In this capacity, he oversees and directs the delivery of claims advocacy services with the Claim Consulting Practice and the broader risk consulting offerings of Marsh Advisory in the US. He is a member of the US Executive Committee, the global Marsh Advisory Executive Committee, and Global Claims Advisory Leadership Team. David assumed these responsibilities in late 2015.
EXPERIENCE
David joined Marsh in 1989. Most recently, he served as Marsh’s Boston office head and New England Partnership Leader, with P&L and operational responsibility for Marsh offices throughout New England and upstate New York. In this capacity, he also served on the US Senior Leadership Team.
Before relocating to Boston, David was based in New York City and was the Client Relationship Leader for Marsh’s New York Metro Zone. He managed the Client Executive Practice in the region with responsibility for client retention, client development, and operational client support functions.
David also had served as the office head for Marsh’s upstate New York operations, with responsibility for the Marsh offices in Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo, and Albany.
Prior to this assignment, he was based in New York City and was the US Practice Leader for the FINPRO (Financial and Professional Services) operations of PEMA (Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A Practice), with responsibility for private equity portfolio management and the Transactional Risk Practice.
David began his career in Marsh’s FINPRO Practice, specializing in management liability (D&O), professional liability (E&O), and related risk and coverage lines, where he served in a series of client, management, business development, and industry practice roles.
